What you'll do

  • Own Verety's own regulatory and data-handling posture as we expand into new jurisdictions — data residency, retention, and source-licensing questions that come up with every new market.
  • Work with engineering to make sure the product's own behavior (what it checks, what it stores, what it discloses about its own limitations) actually matches what we tell customers and regulators.
  • Support customers' own compliance teams during procurement and audits — answering the questions a bank's or fintech's compliance function will reasonably ask of a vendor making risk decisions on their behalf.
  • Track the regulatory landscape Verety operates in and sells into (AMLR, AMLD6, FATF guidance, and equivalents in each jurisdiction we cover) and translate changes into real product and policy requirements.
  • Help define what "auditable" actually means for an AI-run investigation — this role shapes the evidence and reasoning trail the product keeps, not just reviews it after the fact.

What we're looking for

  • Real experience in compliance, AML, financial-crime risk, or a closely related regulated function — ideally including hands-on exposure to KYC/KYB programs.
  • Able to read and translate regulatory text into concrete product/process requirements, not just summarize it.
  • Comfortable being the first dedicated compliance hire — defining how this function works here, not inheriting an existing one.
  • Clear writer — a lot of this role is producing documentation that has to hold up to a customer's own compliance team or a regulator.

Nice to have

  • Experience at a RegTech, fintech, or financial institution's compliance function.
  • A relevant certification (e.g. CAMS or equivalent).
  • Experience with multi-jurisdiction compliance programs specifically.
